NEW YORK, N.Y. - The men's and women's middle distance and distance groups served as the highlight as the Blue Devils closed out the Armory Collegiate Invitational Saturday, February 2 in New York, N.Y.  The men's 4x800 had the top finish of the day finishing in second place with a time of 7:30.24.  The quartet of sophomores Henry Farley, Kyle Moran and Nate McClafferty along with freshman Michal Filipczak finished one tenth of a second behind winner Columbia and claimed the fourth fastest time in Duke school history.

Earlier in the day, senior Mike Moverman raced in the championship division of 3,000 meter, setting a personal record by completing the distance in 8:07.91 for third place overall.  This mark also places him fourth on Duke's all-time list.

On the women's side, Duke sophomore Kelsey Lakowske, who earned All-America honors in a break out cross country season this fall, led a trio of Blue Devils in the women's 3,000m finishing in 9:41.38 to finish third in a competitive field.  Senior Esther Vermeer was right behind her, finishing in 9:45.17 in fourth while Jessie Rubin finished in fifth with a time of 9:47.49.

In the women's 800m, freshman Anima Banks had another impressive race early in her Duke career, crossing the line fourth with a time of 2:07.64.  Senior Cydney Ross was directly on her heels finishing in fifth with a personal record time of 2:07.77.  The two women's times placed them third and fourth on Duke's all-time list.  Sophomore Abby Farley also competed in the event placing twelfth in the field with a time of 2:12.55.

The women's 4x400 finished in fourth place in the collegiate division with a time of 3:46.15.  The relay was led off by sophomores Lauren Hansson and Alexis Roper and also included junior Hannah Goranson and sophomore Elizabeth Kerpon.  The time run by the quartet was the fastest of the season so far and placed third on Duke's all-time list.

Duke will return to action next weekend, February 8-9 with most of the team traveling to the Virginia Tech Elite Meet in Blacksburg, Va.  Also, a handful of Blue Devils will travel west to compete in the Husky Classic in Seattle, Wash., on the same days.  For more information, check out www.GoDuke.com .
