MALVERN, Pa. – The University of Delaware men’s golf team carded a 291 score on Tuesday as the Blue Hens finished in sixth place at the Wildcat Invitational.

Delaware, which fired a 295 on Monday, finished in sixth place out of 19 squads with a two-round total of 586. Drexel captured the team title with a 573 score, followed by Rhode Island at 578 and St. John’s at 584.

Jack Melville enjoyed the lowest round of the day by a Blue Hen by carding an even par 71 on the par 71, 6,705-yard White Manor Country Club course, tying for 11th place with a two over par 73-71-144.

Christian Chapman shot his second consecutive 72 on Tuesday as he also tied for 11th place with a two over par 72-72-144. Blaine Lafferty also recorded a 72 during his final round, tying for 14th place with a three over par 73-72-145.

Kieran Purcell, playing as an individual, fired a 73 on Tuesday to tie for 70th place with a 12 over par 81-73-154. Matt Bastian tied for 86th place at the invitational with a 15 over par 77-80-157, while RJ Wren carded a 16 over par 82-76-158 to tie for 89th place.

David Powers was the tournament medalist as he posted a two-shot victory with a four under par 68-70-138.

Delaware closes out its regular season on Apr. 20-22 when the Blue Hens compete in the CAA Championship at Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh, N.C.
