TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Delaware men’s golf team sits in fifth place while freshman Christian Chapman is seventh following Monday’s two rounds at the USF Invitational.

The Blue Hens fired rounds of 308 and 313 at Tampa Palms Golf & Country Club, ending the day in fifth place out of 11 teams with a 621 total. The host Bulls hold a commanding lead with a 580 score, followed by Southern Illinois at 602 and Florida Atlantic at 604.

Chapman fired a pair of two over par rounds of 74 on the par 72, 7,004-yard course, finishing the day in seventh place with a four over par 74-74-148. Blaine Lafferty is tied for 30th place with a 13 over par 78-79-157, while Jack Gianniny (77-81-158) and Kieran Purcell (79-79-158) are each tied for 35th place at 14 over par.

Jack Melville, playing as an individual, is tied for 39th place with a 15 over par 81-78-159, while RJ Wren carded a 28 over par 87-85-172 to end the day in 61st place.

Kyle Flexsenhar of USF leads the field at two under par, while Peyton Wilhoit of Southern Illinois is one shot back. Tuesday’s final round will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
