ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The University of Delaware men’s basketball team erased a 15-point second half deficit to go up by four, but Navy responded down the stretch as the Midshipmen posted an 82-76 victory over the Blue Hens Friday night at Alumni Hall.

Navy (6-3) led the entire first half before taking a 35-27 lead at the break, and scored the first seven points of the second period to go up 42-27 with 17 minutes remaining. The Mids were still up 43-30 before Delaware (4-4) exploded for a 17-0 run to take its first lead of the night at 47-43 at the 12:45 mark. Anthony Mosley ignited the spurt with a pair of baskets, and after Kevin Anderson put the Blue Hens in front with a three-pointer, Mosley added a layup to put the Blue Hens up four.

A Darian Bryant jumper put UD back up 58-57 on a turnaround jumper with 8:12 left, but Navy scored the next five points and led the rest of the way. The Mids went up as many as nine, and the Blue Hens never got closer than four points in the final minute.

Ryan Daly led the Blue Hens with 23 points and four steals, and knocked down five three-pointers on the night. Anderson added 15 points, while Mosley added 15 points and five assists. Allen reached double figures for the third straight game with 11 points, while Bryant was the fifth UD player in double figures with 10 points.

Bryce Dulin paced Navy with 30 points and knocked down four triples, while Shawn Anderson added 20 points and a game-high six assists.

HEAD COACH MARTIN INGELSBY
"I love how we battled back in the second half and showed a lot of resiliency. The fouls really hurt us tonight, we sent them to the foul line too much and need to find ways to improve defensively. We went up four points in the second half, but just couldn’t get enough stops. We went small and were able to open up driving areas, but we have to get a better balance offensively. We’re a young team still trying to figure it out, we need to get back in the gym teaching and coaching our group.”
