NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Blue Hen sophomore Isabella Rimton is tied for second place while the University of Delaware women’s golf team is seventh following Friday’s opening round at the Yale Intercollegiate.

Rimton fired the lowest round of her career with a one under par 70 on the par 71, 6,008-yard Yale Golf Course. She carded five birdies on the day, while adding nine pars.

Hazel MacGarvie of Stirling leads the field at three under par, while Rimton and Elodie Chapelet of Lamar are two shots back.

Kylie Greulich, playing as an individual, and Ariane Klotz are tied for 18th place after both players carded a three over par 74 on Friday.

Ashley Dingman is tied for 52nd place with a seven over par 78, while Valentina Mueller and Josefina Fernandez-Davila are both tied for 61st place at eight over par 79.

The Blue Hens recorded a 301 team score on Friday, finishing the day in seventh place out of 15 squads. Stirling holds the lead at 285, while Boston College sits in second place with a 294 score.

The three-day tournament continues with the second round on Saturday.
