CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- Chattanooga Mocs head women's golf coach Colette Murray announced the signing of Emily McLennan (Queensland, Australia) Tuesday. McLennan is one of the top juniors coming out of Australia.
McLennan sports an impressive resume ranking consistently in the top five of Australian juniors in each of the last three years. A graduate of Hills International in Jimboomba, Queensland, she attended Hills Golf Academy, the same school as PGA Tour player Jason Day.
"I am excited about Emily," Murray commented. "She is one of those you get that you are just over the moon about. Wonderful individual...she's really excited about coming here and making a difference.
"She has a great playing resume," Murray continued. "Emily has been in a very focused golf environment coming through the same school as Jason Day. I'm just really excited about what she can potentially do for this program."
McLennan played for her state of Queensland the last four years in the Australian Teams Junior Championship captaining the team since her 15th birthday going undefeated in 2011 leading Queensland to the title. She represented Golf Australia British Junior Open (2010), Callaway World Junior (2009, 2011) and Jakarta World Junior Championships (2011).
Emily won the Tasmanian Girls Masters in 2010 and 2011 and has 14 other top 10s in both junior and women's amateur play since 2010 when she was named Queensland Golf Industry Junior Player of the Year.
