Baltimore, Md. - Marist College won its first ever women's soccer title after claiming a 1-0 victory over Loyola University Maryland in the final match of the 2011 Chick-fil-A MAAC Women's Soccer Championship at Loyola's Ridley Athletic Complex.

The lone goal of the game came in the 43rd minute, when MAAC Rookie of the Year Amanda Epstein converted a pass from Marjana Maksuti and Jamie Strumwasser to record the game winner. Epstein was named Most Valuable Player of the championship for her two-goal effort on the weekend.

Marist's Caitlin Landsman recorded one save in goal for the Red Foxes. Didi Haracic and Danielle Ippolito shared the goalkeeping duties for Loyola, each registering two saves in between the pipes for the Greyhounds.

Marist earned the MAAC's automatic bid to the 2011 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship. The NCAA Division I Women's Soccer selection show will air live on NCAA.com at 4:30 p.m. ET on Monday, November 7.
