UMKC Splits Doubleheader with Omaha

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The UMKC softball team bounced back from a 15-2 game one loss to Omaha, to trump the Mavericks 10-5 in game two of the doubleheader on Monday, May 2 at Missouri 3&2 Field in Kansas City, Missouri.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The UMKC softball team concluded the Western Athletic Conference regular season schedule on Saturday, April 30, finishing second in the league with a 10-5 conference record. The ‘Roos will now play five non-conference games before heading to the WAC tournament in Seattle, Washington next week, starting with a doubleheader on Monday, May 2 at Missouri 3&2 Field against Omaha, with games scheduled for 2 and 4 p.m.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The UMKC softball team fought back from a four-run first inning deficit to beat Utah Valley in the series rubber match, 9-6, on Saturday, April 16 at Missouri 3&2 Field in Kansas City, Missouri, to give UMKC head coach Meredith Smith Neal her 200th-career victory at the helm of the Kangaroo softball program. Leading the attack for the ‘Roos on Saturday was redshirt freshman Rachel Pate, who went a perfect 4-for-4 from the dish with a home run and four RBIs.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The UMKC softball team split a doubleheader with Utah Valley on Friday, April 15 in Kansas City, Missouri, winning game one 3-2 in a 10-inning knock-down, drag-out fight behind a complete game from sophomore Amber Grove. Game two went the way of the Wolverines, as the ‘Roos fell 4-3.
