Aziz Kijametovic (Zivinice, Bosnia & Herzegovina) and Francois Musitelli (Dijon, France) of the Old Dominion men's tennis team garnered VaSID All-State First Team honors for doubles and All-State Second Team honors for singles.
The 2020 ITA Kick-Off Draft was held on Thursday and the Old Dominion men's tennis team will compete in the Chapel Hill, N.C. regional, along with North Carolina, Georgia State and Elon on Jan. 24-27.
The final ITA Men's Tennis Rankings were released and Old Dominion was one of 42 programs to be represented on the team, singles and doubles rankings. In fact, the Tennis Monarchs were the only Conference USA team to be represented in all three categories.
Kijametovic and Musitelli are currently ranked No. 26 by the ITA for doubles and earned the Conference USA automatic bid to the 2019 NCAA Doubles Tournament. The duo compiled an overall 23-8 record for the season and went 12-3 in dual matches in the No. 1 slot. They had wins over six currently ranked doubles teams. Kijametovic and Musitelli qualified for the ITA Fall Nationals and advanced to the semifinals. This tandem also earned First Team All-Conference USA accolades a season ago.

"All that we accomplished in the past three years could not have been done without Sergey's hard work and determination for ODU athletics," explained ODU head coach Dominik Mueller. "He embraced being a Monarch and puts it on display every single day. He is doing a fantastic job with our players on courts and is one of the best assistant coaches in the country. We are blessed to have him at ODU and hope to keep him around for much longer. It's a well-deserved recognition for his work over the last three years and another milestone for our program."

The Tennis Monarchs enter next week's Conference USA Tournament (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) winners of five of their last seven matches. The C-USA Tournament bracket will be released on Monday.
