UNM recognized 18 seniors whose last game on Branch Field at University Stadium was Saturday: K Justus Adams, TE Andrew Aho, DT K.J. The Lobos’ 50-yard touchdown pass from Cole Gautsche to Reece White was the longest of the season. They finished with 249 passing yards, the most since throwing for 274 yards vs. UNLV on Nov. 12, 2011.

UNM threw two interceptions in a game for the first time since it played at San Diego State on Nov. 5, 2011.

UNM’s 208 kick return yards were the highest in the Mountain West this season.

The Lobos’ average home attendance in 2013 was 23,441 per game, an increase of 1,134 fans from the 2012 average of 22,307 (5.1 percent).

It was the second-highest scoring game in Mountain West history at 108 total points.


Quarterback Cole Gautsche’s 50-yard touchdown pass to tight end Reece White was his longest pass of the season. His 26-yard TD pass to WR Tyler Duncan was his second TD pass of the game, which tied his career high (set last season vs. Wyoming on Nov. 10). He had 133 yards passing at the half, the first time he’s been in triple digits in passing yards in the first half.

Gautsche and RB Kasey Carrier did not play in the second half due to injury.

QB Clayton Mitchem threw for a career high 116 yards, playing the entire second half.

Tight end Reece White’s 50-yard TD reception was his career long and first TD reception.  He caught the pass from Gautsche, and both were teammates at Cleveland High School in Rio Rancho.

Wide receiver Tyler Duncan’s 26-yard TD reception in the second quarter was his second of the season. He had a career-long 52-yard catch in the third quarter. Duncan had a career-high four receptions for 95 yards, the most yards by a Lobo WR since Deon Long had 96 yards vs. Boise State on Dec. 3, 2011.

RB Crusoe Gongbay’s 61-yard run on the first play from scrimmage in the second half was his career long. He later scored on a 3-yard run, his fourth rushing TD of the season. He finished with a career-high 98 rushing yards.

RB Teriyon Gipson scored on a 7-yard run in the third quarter, his fourth TD of the season. Gipson had career highs with 48 rushing yards and six carries. He also forced his first career fumble on special teams. He also had three tackles on special teams.

RB Jhurell Pressley’s 12-yard TD run in the third quarter was his fifth rushing TD of the season.

RB David Anaya caught a career-long 36-yard reception in the third quarter.


CB SaQwan Edwards recorded his first career sack in the second quarter.

DE Jacori Greer’s sack in the second quarter was his second this season.

DE Fatu Ulale forced a fumble in the second quarter, the first of his career.

LB Dakota Cox tied a career high with 14 tackles. He had double-digit tackles for the third straight game.

LB Dallas Bollema finished with 10 tackles, marking the second game this season he finished with double-digit tackles.

Special Teams

Carlos Wiggins’ 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown was his second return of 100 yards for the season and matched Chase Clayton’s two KO returns for TDs in a season in 2012.

Dameon Gamblin’s 28-yard punt return in the second quarter was the longest of the season. UNM had 29 punt return yards for the season entering the game.

UNM did not punt for the second straight game.
