Edwardsville, Illinois — The Michigan Tech women’s cross country team finished 17th of 22 teams at today’s NCAA Great Lakes Regional hosted by Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. Grand Valley State won the meet with a score of 40. Tech posted a team total of 394.
Laura Kangas was the Huskies top finisher in 50th place. She ran a time of 23:22 on the six-kilometer course.
Finishing in 72nd place, Catie Cogger clocked a 23:49. Andrea Metz (79th, 23:57), Alison Springer-Wilson (95th, 24:15) and Stephanie Schiel (106th, 24:24) rounded out the Huskies top five finishers.
“I’m much happier with today’s performance than I was two weeks ago at the GLIAC’s,” said head coach Joe Hagenmiller. “We battled back from a poor performance and redeemed ourselves a little bit.
We’ll miss the seniors who are leaving the program, but I think we have a strong corps returning for next year.”
Michigan Tech’s 2007 women’s cross country season is now complete.
