LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State women’s soccer team will hold its annual kid’s clinic and Crimson and White scrimmage on Saturday, Aug. 15. Both events are free to the public.
The kid’s clinic will run from 5 to 6 p.m. at the NM State Soccer Athletic Complex and is open to girls and boys ages 5-14. Aggie head coach Freddy Delgado, staff and student-athletes will be on hand to work with participants on basic skills and drills.
NM State soccer fans will then get to see their first glimpse of the 2015 Aggie soccer team as the squad holds its annual Crimson and White scrimmage immediately following the kid’s camp, at approximately 6:20 p.m.
It will also be the first time on a collegiate pitch for the 16 freshmen on the young NM State squad. The freshmen make up 61.5 percent of the Aggie 26-player roster while 77 percent of the roster goes into the season as underclassmen.
The scrimmage is a precursor to NM State’s season-opening scrimmage versus Pima Community College on Wednesday, Aug. 19, and regular-season opener against Eastern Washington on Sunday, Aug. 23. Both matches will be held at the Soccer Athletic Complex.
Parents are encouraged to click on the 'Free Kid's Clinic' tab on the women's soccer home page to register children for the clinic. They can also register their kids or have questions answered by contacting Jimmy Sanchez at 575-646-8052 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please make sure kids bring a water bottle and a soccer ball if available.
