PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph’s University Director of Athletics Jill Bodensteiner announced four additions and three promotions in the external affairs department on Thursday afternoon. Jasmine Cannady has been named Associate Athletic Director for Marketing and Fan Experience, while Jack Jumper ’09 has been promoted to Director of Athletics Communications and Joe Greenwich and Nikki Philpot ’13 have been promoted to full-time Assistant Directors of Athletics Communications. Additionally, Avery Marz ’18 and Brendan Roach ’19 have been named Athletics Communications Graduate Assistants, while Mike Jolaoso has been named a Graduate Assistant for Athletics Marketing.
Most recently the Associate Athletic Director of Marketing, Promotions, and Tickets at Fordham, Cannady was responsible for developing and coordinating all marketing and promotional activities for the Rams’ 22 varsity teams and designing ticket marketing plans to promote fan attendance. She also coordinated and implemented all game-day promotional activities and contests and utilized social media to further the marketing and branding efforts of individual sports and Fordham Athletics.
Cannady arrived at Fordham by way of Notre Dame, where she served as an assistant marketing director from 2015-18. She coordinated and executed a comprehensive marketing plan for the Fighting Irish women’s basketball and baseball teams, which included the development of promotions and ticket sales initiatives designed to increase attendance, revenue, and fan engagement. Cannady developed detailed game scripts and directed all in-game activities, including music, spirit squad and band coordination that enhanced the fan experience. She also coordinated media placement and assisted Fighting Irish Media in the development of traditional and digital advertising creative.
Prior to her stint at Notre Dame, Cannady served as the athletic business coordinator at her alma mater, Sacramento State University, from 2014-15. She oversaw and managed all ordering, receiving and inventorying of all athletic apparel for 15 collegiate teams and six departments. Cannady started her time at Sacramento State as the marketing assistant and business coordinator for the school from 2013-14, coordinating and running an internship program employing 25 student interns. A 2011 graduate of Sacramento State University with a degree in journalism and communications, Cannady also earned an MBA from the school in 2016. She was a four-year starter for the Hornets women’s basketball program.
"I have had the pleasure of working with Jasmine in the past," said Bodensteiner. "She will bring to Hawk Hill an incredible and diverse skill set to help us promote our fabulous student-athletes and coaches. Jasmine will also continue to enhance our fan experience so that we reflect a sense of pride and showcase our special community at Hawk sporting events."
Jumper begins his 16th year at Saint Joseph’s University and enters his first year as the primary media contact for the men’s basketball and rowing programs in 2019-20, while continuing to work with the women’s soccer, softball, and golf programs. He served as assistant media coordinator for the 2009 NCAA Men’s First and Second Rounds hosted by Saint Joseph’s at the Wachovia Center, along with sharing host duties at multiple conference championships. Jumper was the primary media contact for the women’s basketball program for 15 years, which included 11 years of providing play-by-play for women’s basketball road contests. An active member of the College Sports Information Directors of America, Jumper earned Best in the District honors in 2006 and 2007, the latter shared with Greenwich, for the SJU golf media guide. He received his M.A. in Writing Studies from SJU in 2009.
Greenwich enters his 14th year on the SJU Athletics Communications staff, where he oversees video content and serves as media contact for Saint Joseph’s field hockey, baseball, women’s lacrosse, and men’s and women’s tennis programs. Over the last four years, Greenwich has promoted the nationally-ranked, three-time defending Atlantic 10 regular-season champion and two-time defending A-10 tournament champion field hockey team and has coordinated all publicity surrounding the squad’s back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances. Additionally, Greenwich led the promotional candidacy of six student-athletes to a combined 11 All-America selections over the last six years, including three-time All-Americans Deon Stafford, Jr. (baseball) and Anna Willocks (field hockey), served as the play-by-play broadcaster for baseball, basketball, and soccer, and hosted four A-10 Field Hockey Championships.
Philpot begins her eighth year on the SJU Athletics Communications staff and enters her first year as the primary media contact for the women’s basketball program in 2019-20, while continuing to work with the men’s lacrosse, men’s soccer, and men’s and women’s track and field and cross country programs. Philpot was the primary media contact for the women’s lacrosse program for seven years and served as the media coordinator for the 2015 and 2016 NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Final Four Championships, hosted by Saint Joseph’s at Talen Energy Stadium. Philpot, who received her M.A. in Writing Studies from SJU in 2013, also hosted four Northeast Conference Men’s Lacrosse Championships and the 2017 A-10 Women’s Lacrosse Championships, and served as the play-by-play broadcaster for softball.

"Jack is relentless in his effort to promote our student-athletes and has brought many innovative ideas to the table in his short time as a leader. Joe is as knowledgeable as they come within college athletics and takes true ownership of the teams that he supports. Nikki is passionate about the student-athletes with whom she works and brings creativity to the office every day."
In addition to traditional athletics communications responsibilities, Marz and Roach will focus on digital content creation, specifically on the social media side, to create an increased social media presence across all Saint Joseph’s athletics platforms. Marz, a two-year team captain on the varsity women’s basketball squad, graduated from SJU in May ’18 with a communications degree and business minor and is completing her M.A. in Writing Studies. A four-year catcher on the varsity baseball team, Roach graduated from SJU in May ’19 with an international business degree and Mandarin minor, and is working toward his master’s degree in consumer analytics.
Jolaoso, a four-year letterwinner for the Golden Rams basketball program, graduated from West Chester in May ’19 with a business management degree and is completing his MBA in business administration on Hawk Hill. A 2015 product of Episcopal Academy, Jolaoso will work to enhance the fan experience this year.
"The addition of two former Hawk student-athletes – Avery and Brendan – to our Athletics Communications staff will help us tell our story in a manner that resonates with current and future student-athletes, continue to improve our engagement on social media, and generate excitement among our many fans," said Bodensteiner. "A former student-athlete in his own right as a men’s basketball player at West Chester University, Mike will channel his playing experiences into his role in marketing and fan experience. At the same time, we will help to prepare Avery, Brendan, and Mike for their bright futures in athletics or otherwise.
