CofC Equestrian Places Fifth at Nationals; Hay wins Cacchione Cup
WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – College of Charleston equestrian finished in fifth place at Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Nationals, and senior Eliza Hay won The College’s first Cacchione Cup, collegiate riding’s highest honor.
The College finishes in the top-five of the nation for the second consecutive year, after finishing second at IHSA Nationals a year ago and claiming the program’s third Reserve National Championship.
Fellow IHSA Zone 5 member Savannah College of Art and Design claimed the Hunter Seat Team National Championship, followed by Centenary College, Skidmore College, Stanford, and St. Lawrence.
Hay claims the nation’s highest collegiate equestrian honor to culminate her already highly-decorated riding career.
Also in the individual portion of the completion, Victoria Bauer finished second in Novice Equitation on the Flat.
