CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men’s tennis team will welcome UNC Charlotte to the tennis complex at Patriots Point for Senior Day in it’s final regular season match of the season on Saturday, April 16 at noon.

The College will honor its five seniors in their final match at home. Those seniors include Charlie Ghriskey, Garrett Gordon, Zack Lewis, Matt Daly, and Josh Record. As a group, they have won 130 matches in singles competition over their careers, and 113 matches in doubles play, leaving them as one of the most successful classes in Charleston history.

The Cougars (15-6, 3-0) have already secured their third consecutive season with at least 15 wins, but look to add to that total against a 49ers team that has won 12 of its 17 games in 2016.

Zack Lewis was honored as the CAA Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for his efforts last week after picking up two crucial wins for The College over the last week in two close matches. He won in the No. 4 singles spot in the College’s match against Elon in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1, and also won in the No. 4 position against Davidson in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1. Lewis is now 5-1 at the No. 4 singles spot, and 12-9 in singles play this season.

Following the match against Charlotte, The College will begin preparations for post-season play as the CAA tournament is set to begin on April 21 and run through April 24. The seeding for the tournament will be decided a few days prior to the tournament after each CAA team’s regular season has concluded.  For more information on the men’s tennis team, and the rest of the College of Charleston’s athletic programs, head over to
