Coach Kepner Pre-Tournament Thoughts: “I am looking forward to playing again this weekend. We improved during our last match against Davidson and had a really good week of practice. This will be a good challenge for our team with three tough matches.”

Demon Deacon Classic Recap: Junior middle blocker Krissy Mummey (Hudson, Ohio) and freshman outside hitter Lauren Freed (Troy, Ohio) were both named to the Demon Deacon Classic All-Tournament Team last weekend. Mummey recorded 25 kills and two blocks combined in matches versus Loyola (Chicago), Wake Forest and Davidson, while Freed had a near double-double performance in a three-set win over former Southern Conference rival Davidson with a career-high 12 kills and nine digs on Sept. 3.

CofC Reunion: It will be a reunion for Eastern Michigan Head Coach Kimi Olson and her coaching staff. Olson served as assistant coach under CofC Head Coach Jason Kepner from 2010-15 and her assistant coaches Mike Shearer and Darcy Dorton also have ties to the Cougars. Shearer was an assistant coach from 2009-11, while Dorton played for the Cougars from 2011-14 becoming the first AVCA All-American (honorable mention) in program history. She was named Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year and All-CAA First Team during her senior campaign. Dorton is the only player in NCAA Division I volleyball to win conference titles in three different conferences (Big Ten, SoCon, and CAA) having transferred to CofC from Penn State.
