CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston volleyball head coach Jason Kepner announced the team’s 2016 schedule on Thursday. The slate features a pair of two-day tournaments at TD Arena as well as eight home Colonial Athletic Association matches.
The Cougars open the season in the four-team CofC Invitational on Aug. 26-27. South Carolina, UT Martin and Binghamton will all participate in the round-robin event with The College. The match against the Gamecocks on Aug. 26 is set for a 7 p.m. first serve and will be the first meeting between the schools since 2011.
The CofC Classic runs Sept. 9-10 and features Charleston, Charleston Southern, VCU and Eastern Michigan. The tournament marks the return of former CofC assistant Kimi Olson, who took over Eastern Michigan's program in 2015.
CAA play opens on Sept. 23 with a visit from Hofstra, while Northeastern comes to town on Sept. 25.
College of Charleston is coming off a 20-13 campaign a year ago; the sixth consecutive season with at least 20 wins. The team also advanced to CAA Championships title game for the third straight season.
