CofC Volleyball Adds Early Enrollee

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston volleyball head coach Jason Kepner announced the addition of early enrollee Katja Ehlers on Wednesday. The 5-foot, 9-inch defensive specialist/libero will join the team in January.

Ehlers, a Raleigh, N.C., native, is an AVCA/Under Armour High School All-American honorable mention selection as well as a two-time Raleigh News & Observer All-Metro pick and three-time Cap-8 All-Conference selection. A product of Needham B. Broughton High School, Ehlers finished her career with 1,168 kills (3.77 k/s), 178 service aces and 688 digs.

“We are really excited to add Katja mid-year. She is the first early enrollee that I’ve added in my coaching career,” Kepner said. “She brings a lot of energy and excitement to the court and will help solidify our passing and ball control. We are excited to get to work with her early.”

Broughton High School in Raleigh, N.C. … Three-time Cap-8 All-Conference selection … Two-time Raleigh News & Observer All-Metro selection … 2015 AVCA/Under Armour High School All-American honorable mention … Led Broughton to 60-5 combined overall record in three seasons … Named academic all-conference in 2015 … Member of Broughton High School A/B Honor Roll all 10 quarters, graduated early … Played her freshman season at The O’Neal School in Pinehurst, N.C.
