CSU Fall Invitational Up Next For Cougars
CHARLESTON, S.C. – The CSU Fall Invitational is up next for the College of Charleston women’s golf team on Sept. 12-13 at the Rivertowne Country Club in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
This year’s tournament field includes the Cougars, host Charleston Southern, Presbyterian, High Point, Longwood, Limestone College, Georgia Southern, Bethune-Cookman and USC Upstate.
CofC will start freshman Victoria Huskey (Greenville, S.C.), senior Laura Fuenfstueck (Langen, Germany), freshman Anna-Theresa Rottluff (Meerbusch, Germany), senior Vici Drechsler (Munich, Germany) and graduate senior Mary Fran Hillow (Orlando, Fla.). Junior Josefine Garton (Linköping, Sweden) and freshman Savanah Goodman (Easley, S.C.) will compete as individuals.
“We look forward to playing in the CSU Fall Invitational,” CofC Head Coach Jamie Futrell said. “Now that we have our feet wet after last week’s one-day event, I look for our team to settle in and have a great tournament. Mary Fran Hillow, a graduate transfer from the University of South Carolina, returns to our lineup after being out with an injury last week. She obviously adds a great deal of experience to our lineup.
“We have the talent to compete for the tournament championship this week. We will need to play well to accomplish that goal.”
The tournament format includes 36 holes on Monday with an 8:30 a.m. (ET) shotgun start and 18 holes on Tuesday at 9 a.m. (ET). Live tournament scoring will be available at: www.Golfstat.com.
