Release: 07/02/2015
Kara Mupo enters her first season as an assistant coach with the Tribe lacrosse program.

While Mupo will be instrumental with both defensive and offensive strategy, her primary responsibilities will also include recruiting, team travel arrangements and acting as the community service coordinator.

“I am so excited to have Kara join the Tribe lacrosse staff,” Fratzke said. “She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience from a top program that will be so valuable to our continued success as a team both athletically and academically. Her values, drive and passion as an individual are aligned with our goals as a program and department, and we have no doubt she will make an immediate impact.”

Mupo joins the Tribe staff after a standout playing career at Northwestern in which she helped the Wildcats win a pair of national championships and advance to the Final Four on four occasions. Currently a member of the U.S. Women’s National Team, Mupo served as a team captain at NU during her senior season and finished her collegiate career with 186 points (136g, 50a).

“I want to thank the College of William & Mary for the opportunity to be a part of the Tribe family,” Mupo said. “I could not be more excited to work hands on with both Hillary and Mary, along with the rest of the athletic department and student-athletes, in hopes to achieve our goals as a program and provide the team with a positive experience.”

In addition to her impressive resume as a player, Mupo has assisted with numerous lacrosse camps across the country during the past few years. She has also provided one-on-one instruction as a personal lacrosse trainer.

A native of Coram, N.Y., Mupo earned a bachelor of science degree in human development and psychological services from NU in June 2014. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sports administration at NU.
