Hey Tribe Fans,

This past week was a really exciting week as we all made some great progress in the gym and looked forward to fall break! Everyone was extremely busy between practice, exams, and packing. Even though it was a bit stressful, all of the girls were able to stay focused and keep the energy up during practice. It’s really exciting to see how well the team is starting to come together. There’s been an enormous amount of cheering and encouragement during practice, and that type of environment is always conducive to productive workouts! Some girls went home for fall break to spend time with their families, others took trips to see friends, and some are simply enjoying some down time on campus. It should be a nice break before we get back to working hard on Wednesday! I’m definitely looking forward to these next few weeks as we approach our first meet sim and continue to make great progress!

GO TRIBE!

It was a fun week in the gym! It was theme week. Tuesday was America day and everyone showed her USA pride. Wednesday was Mean Girls themed—“On Wednesdays we wear pink.” Thursday was throwback Thursday. The amount of velvet Leos and high ponytails was astonishing! Finally, Friday was Tribe Pride Day. The gym was a sea of green and gold as the girls donned Tribe gear to show our love for the Tribe family. We had some exciting progress in the gym, especially on bars as Katie and Kellie both caught release moves multiple times on Friday. It was a high-energy week and we are ready for the next one!

Hey Tribe Fans!

This past weekend was Family Weekend and let me start off by saying … rain does NOT deter the Tribe! Tribe gymnastics had a tailgate planned for before the game and we did not let the rain cancel it. Instead, we moved the “tailgate” indoors to senior, Alyssa Glass’ apartment, which she so graciously volunteered. There may have been some layout limitations when you try to squeeze 20+ families into one apartment but that did not limit the fun (or the food!). We had both women and men’s gymnastics families present which was a blast. It was absolutely incredible to have all the parents here on campus. Many families made some long hauls to be here –some from Tennessee, Minnesota and even California! I hope the families know how appreciative we are. Tribe Football had a sweeping victory over Stony Brook with a score of 21-0 and to top it all off, World Champion coach Jill Ellis was back on campus, her alma mater! She came to receive the honor of Tribe Champion for life. Talk about an eventful weekend for Tribe Athletics!

In the gym we are starting to feel the big push preparing for our meet simulation in only three weeks! We’ve been working hard during practices to be beyond ready for this first meet simulation.  We all are also preparing for the Suicide Prevention Walk this weekend on October 3rd! We have partnered with Active Minds and have set some pretty ambitious goals so we are hoping for a great turnout. This is an issue we are all very passionate about and we hope to stop the stigma surrounding it. Ending such a wonderful weekend and thinking about the importance of the coming weekend, really reminds that we are One Tribe One Family.

Much love,

Hey everyone

This past week we have had our first official practice of the year!! It was very exciting for all of us, especially for me to see how the team cheered and supported each other throughout practice. Since officials have started, we are prepping for the upcoming competitive season and aiming to have another victorious season.

This upcoming week we are still getting back into the swing of things but we are off to a good start! This weekend we are teaming up with active minds for our annual suicide prevention walk. If any of you who are tribe gymnastics fans, please come out or donate on activeminds.org. Hope to see you there!!

Go Tribe!!

Hey Tribe Fans!

Saturday TribeGym took our cheering skills on the road to The Patriot Sprint Triathlon event. We volunteered at the event to help direct the participants through the course and we brought our Tribe pride spirit with us! It was so much fun supporting and cheering on the participants as they pushed themselves to complete the taxing event. Following the event, some team members and I headed over to the soccer field to cheer on the women's soccer team as they defeated Harvard! A big congratulations to women's soccer and all of the triathlon participants!

This week is an exciting one as we start official practices on Wednesday! We all are looking forward to starting workouts as a team. At this point we have established our goals for the season and are very ready to work each day to push closer and closer to achieving them! Be sure to check out our Instagram page for behind the scenes action inside the gym!

Until next time,

Britt

Hey Tribe Fans!

I hope everyone had a relaxing Labor Day weekend. Although we still had classes, we did have a day off of practice! We got the team together for a nice picnic on the Sunken Gardens and learned a fun fact about each other. Here are some examples: Livi has a frighteningly impressive fake sneeze, Caroline was chased by monkeys, and Brittany knows how to ride a motorcycle! We had a really great time hanging out and getting to know one another a little bit better.

For us, classes are officially in full swing, meaning official practice is right around the corner. This is our last week of open gym and we have been busy preparing ourselves for the upcoming season. The freshmen and Kellie are transitioning extremely well and we’re so excited to see what they bring to the team this year! On Thursday, we will be taking team pictures. I’ll keep the location and leotard a surprise! Have a great week!

Much love,

Bri

Hey Tribe!

This past week has been a very busy week for everyone. What with the freshmen settling into their dorms and upperclassmen setting up their apartments, there wasn’t room for much down time. Before classes started, the freshmen and I had orientation where we were taken all over campus, met our hall-mates, and introduced to the amazing opportunities that William & Mary has to offer. Classes started Wednesday along with Convocation. During Convocation, all of William & Mary came out to support the freshman class and officially welcomed us to the Tribe. I am really looking forward to my classes this semester and excited to be taking them with fellow teammates.  We are all excited to be practicing as a team in the gym and getting into the groove of everyday life. This was also the first week of open gym, so the team was able to practice together for the very first time and have our very first morning conditioning of the season. We are all very excited to be here and take the team to the next level this year!!!

Love,

Anna

Hey everyone!

The team is finally back to Williamsburg and ready for a great year! Words can't describe how excited I am to finally be on campus with everyone! We're also glad Kelsey has joined us in the 'burg! My parents and I drove in from Nashville last Wednesday. Thursday was spent getting my student ID and mailbox, gathering stuff for my dorm, and meeting up with the team at Yogurtini. It was so great seeing all of the girls that I haven't seen since my official visit last September and meeting some of the other freshmen for the first time! Friday morning we got to move into our dorms and start orientation activities. It has been very hot here in the 'burg all weekend so I am definitely thankful I lucked out getting air conditioning in my dorm! Orientation is jam-packed so we are all hoping we have some downtime to finish getting our rooms together and even hit the gym! On Saturday we got to register for classes, which was a little stressful. Luckily Alyssa, Bri, and Livi were there to help us through this time around! This Wednesday marks the first day of class and Convocation! Everyone is ready to get into the swing of things and hit the gym as a whole team! It's going to be a great year!

Go Tribe!

Hey Tribe!

Summer is starting to wind down and everyone is working hard to take care of any last minute shopping, working out, and family time before heading to Williamsburg. It has definitely been a nice, relaxing summer. I spent a few weeks working at Woodward gymnastics camp in Pennsylvania, went on a family vacation to Long Beach Island, NJ, and worked on getting skills back in the gym. This weekend was a tough one for my parents as we moved my younger brother into his dorm for his freshman year. Once my older brother and I head back to school later this week they are officially going to have an empty nest! Its crazy how fast time flies! I will be spending the rest of my time at home packing and getting everything ready to move to the burg and start an amazing year! The rest of the tribe has also been winding down and enjoying some final summer activities. Gabby has been road tripping back from Las Vegas where she spent her summer working and with family due to her Dad’s job. Anna went to see Brantley Gilbert on Sunday. Aaliyah went to jumpology for the first time with her club gym where they tried out their new ninja warrior course. She said that it was fun but definitely too easy for a bunch of gymnasts! Claire just got back from what looked like an amazing trip to Europe and is now back and getting into shape at the gym. All of the freshmen have been getting tons of things for their new dorms and trying to pack everything. We found out that Kelsey Hinton is going to be our assistant coach! It’s pretty exciting to have a former collegiate gymnast with so much experience as our coach! I can’t wait to arrive on campus and start the journey with my new tribe family!

Have an awesome week!

Hey Tribe!

I can’t believe we are less than two weeks away from being reunited in the Burg! This summer has flown by so fast. Everyone is wrapping up their summer, finishing up summer jobs and internships, working hard in and out of the gym, doing some last minute traveling, and visiting friends and family. It truly has been an eventful summer. I’m so excited to see everyone at the freshman meet and greet. It feels like it’s been so long since I’ve seen everyone. I can’t wait to hear all the details of everyone’s summer adventures. Once Tribe Gym is reunited, we can start preparing for another awesome season. There is lots of hard work ahead of us, but Tribe Gym can do it.

Have a great week!

Hey Tribe!

I hope everyone is enjoying their last few weeks of summer! I can’t wait to arrive on campus and meet all of my new team members. This past week, I did some job shadowing at the Human Genetics Lab at the medical center in Omaha. It was a lot of fun and I got to see some pretty interesting things (including sloth DNA)!  Other than that, I’ve been working out at the gym and getting prepared to move—only a couple weeks left! It sounds like the rest of the team is having a great end of summer as well. Anna is leaving on Tuesday to spend the week in Florida, and Claire is in Munich with her brother, continuing her trip around Europe. Kellie has been working and working out as much as possible, as well as spending time with her family before she and her brothers leave for school. She also went to Camel Beach last Friday with her brother and friend and had a blast there! Monica is in Edmonton and is going to the Taylor Swift concert with some friends this week. I know everyone is working hard in and out of the gym and having tons of fun in the process! I’m so excited to see everyone soon!

Love,

Regan

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to get the chance to tell our readers—incoming students, William & Mary hopefuls, or those of you stumbling across this page—to study abroad if the opportunity ever arises. I have returned from a six-week study abroad trip with 34 fellow W&M students and I can honestly say it was the most incredible experience of my life. Living in the Czech Republic and traveling to various countries and cities every weekend allowed me to see the most breathtaking architecture and art, meet unforgettable people, and listen to some of the most captivating stories. I am so excited to get back to Williamsburg to share my experiences with all of my teammates, both old ones and new ones.

I know I can speak for all of us on the team when I say that we are so excited to have the newest members of the Tribe join us. I can’t wait to get to know our newcomers and meet those who I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting yet. As far as updates go, Alyssa absolutely loves her internship and has been enjoying all of the fantastic sights Washington D.C. has to offer. Bri is working very hard in her physics classes and plans to take a trip up to Maryland for some boating. Oh, and I can’t forget to mention that she has learned a killer new vault! So happy for you! Claire, the world traveler, is currently in Italy with her family (enjoy every moment!). Gaby and Eileen visited one another in Chicago this past weekend and met up with our lovely alum Maggie Lundeen to see Taylor Swift in concert. Anna is heading out to see a county concert tonight and Katie is working on her choreography for her floor routine. Brittany, a true hero, saved a little kitty and has been nursing him back to health. (Awe!) All the while, we are all focusing on maintaining our health and fitness to help us improve our gymnastics. It is wonderful to hear that everyone is working hard both in and out of the gym to ensure a happy and healthy school year.

As for me, I am back in New York catching up with family and friends and of course, gymnastics. I am so happy to be back with my coaches working on perfecting my skills and making upgrades. This weekend I plan on going to Manhattan to visit Tribe Gym Alum Jessica Pritchard and Bree Gawron—those two know how to make life fun. Other than that, before I head down back to school, I plan on enjoying the Long Island sunshine and catching up on all the things I missed while I was away. I cannot believe that I am a junior already and that time has flown by so quickly, but I am beyond excited to start this year up in just a few short weeks. That’s all for now!

Yours,

Livi

Hey Tribe!

I've been having such a great summer, and I've heard some great summer stories from the rest of the team, as well. I just arrived home from the PLUS program at William & Mary. I had such a fun time meeting new people and learning more about what the campus has to offer. Hopefully after walking around campus so much, I’ll be less likely to get lost on that first day! Claire has been spending her summer working (which includes pet sitting) and is leaving for a family vacation to Europe. Regan has been playing violin for The Wizard of Oz at her community theater. Kellie is having a great time working at Woodward. Anna is going to a Yankees baseball game this week. Monica is travelling around the west coast of Canada for the week. As for myself, my summer training has been coming along great. There are so many new skills that I am working on, so that I can add them into my routines for this upcoming season. I can’t wait to start training alongside the Tribe family this year. Have a great rest of the summer and see you soon!

Love,

Aaliyah

Hey Tribe!

I absolutely cannot wait to be a part of the Tribe in a little over a month!  My summer has been great so far, and I think everyone else’s has been too.  Alyssa has spent time with family in DC, Katie just got back from a cruise to Jamaica, Brittany is still recovering from her sister’s wedding (congrats Brandy!), Gaby will be seeing Taylor Swift (I’m so jealous!) with Eileen and Maggie, Olivia is back from studying abroad in the Czech Republic, and the other incoming freshies and I just got our dorm assignments!  I have been spending time with family and friends while conditioning in the gym as my ankle heals.  I can’t wait to start training again to be ready for some Tribe gymnastics.  Next week I leave for Italy with my family, and then my brother and I are traveling to Munich and Paris together.  This summer I have been working at a clothing store, which has been great experience and so fun, not to mention the amazing discounts.  So stoked to be with the team this fall and hope everyone has a great rest of their summer!

Love,

Claire

Hey Tribe Fans!

I hope everyone had a happy Fourth of July and a wonderful holiday weekend.  This past weekend, we got together with some family friends and went to an American Authors concert followed by fireworks.  It was great to barbeque with old friends and catch up on where this past year has taken us.  It sounds like the rest of the team had a great weekend too! Bri tested out her fly-fishing skills up in New York, which sounds really cool.  Livi returned from study abroad, and it looks like she had the time of her life!  Gaby had family visiting for the weekend, and they all celebrated their Vegas trip with water park fun and family game night.  Alyssa stayed in D.C. for the weekend and had her family come visit.  Monica also celebrated on Canada Day last week and is headed camping.  Anna, Claire, and Madison all got to spend some time on the beach this past week, and I’m extremely jealous!  There’s no better way to enjoy summer than with some fun in the sun.  We also wanted to congratulate Tribe soccer alumna Jill Ellis and the rest of the U.S. Women’s Soccer team players and staff on the World Cup win last night! It’s so great to see the Tribe representing.  One Tribe, One Family,

Love, Eileen

Hey Tribe!

It is crazy to think that in less than two months I will be a part of the Tribe. I hope that everyone has been enjoying their summers so far. It seems that everyone has had a busy summer so far. Two weeks ago I had to get ankle surgery to clean up some scar tissue, but I am already in physical therapy and cannot wait to begin training again. I just had prom and graduation a few days ago and I had so much fun. It is so bittersweet for high school to end. The other tribe girls seem to be having fun summers as well! The last few weeks Britt has been running around getting everything ready for Brandy's wedding. Brandy just got married yesterday, so here's a big congrats to the tribe alum! Gaby's been looking for a new car after her car died from the long road trip from Williamsburg to Vegas. Kellie is on her annual summer vacation to Long Beach Island with her family, while Briana is still in Williamsburg taking Physics 1 and 2; you go girl! Fallon just went to the summer jam concert with Fetty Wap, Chris Brown, Big Sean, and Trey, and Olivia is studying abroad in Prague, exploring the many places of Europe. Claire is working at a clothing store in Manhattan Beach, CA, while Monica just finished an English class at her university. Also, Anna just took a trip to the city and Aaliyah is looking forward to being on campus for the PLUS program. Eileen has been starting to run again and I know she just cannot wait to be back doing the sport we all love. Alyssa is busy working at FTI Consulting in their Health Solutions Practice and Katie is on a cruise to the Caribbean, while Regan went to a few College World Series baseball games. Despite our fun and eventful summers, everyone is training hard and looking forward to the season ahead of us! I am so excited to be a part of the Tribe and cannot wait to be down at the Burg in August!!

Lots of love,

Madison
