Western Carolina Head Coach Mark Prosser

On Team’s Road Victory in Tough Environment

“There was some give and take, some up-and-down. Credit to Stetson, you couldn’t tell that they were playing their third game in three days conditioning wise or effort wise, they played really hard. It’s been a long trip for us as well, we’ve been away for several days and several nights now and it’s really nice to end the trip on a winning note. We had some nice individual performances, they stayed with us a bit offensively by changing defenses and they attacked the rim and we have to continue getting better on defense. There are certainly some things to work on, but you never apologize for a road victory.”

On Second Half 3-Point Shooting

“We have the ability to shoot the basketball at a high level. We talked about it at halftime and our kids knew we weren’t getting the 3’s we wanted in the first half. In the second half, we really got downhill, touched the paint, had more inside out 3’s whether it was in the post with Carlos Dotson or drive and spray from Mason Faulkner or other guys. We got better looks at the basket because we were getting better 3’s. Sometimes it’s just a matter of time, we just have to make sure we’re doing it under our terms and our way.”
