Massalle Ferrer Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

Charlotte, N.C. – Charlotte 49ers men’s tennis senior Jordi Massalle Ferrer was named to the CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) Men's At-Large Academic All-District team. Massalle Ferrer will now move onto the CoSIDA Men’s At-Large Academic All-American ballot where he will have a chance to become an Academic All-American.

A couple of weeks ago, Massalle Ferrer was named to the Conference USA All-Academic team for the third straight year. Massalle Ferrer has a 3.915 GPA in Finance and Economics.

Recently, Massalle Ferrer, who earned first-team all-conference honors for the third time in his career, was voted first-team All-Conference USA in singles. Massalle Ferrer and his doubles partner Vikram Hundal earned second-team All-Conference USA honors in doubles.

Last season, Massalle Ferrer was named first-team All-Conference USA in singles. In 2013, Massalle Ferrer earned first-team All-Atlantic 10 honors. This season, Massalle Ferrer set the 49ers’ career records for singles and doubles wins. He finished his career with a school-record 96 singles victories and 80 doubles wins. This season, he led the team with 18 singles wins including ending the season on a 12-match winning streak.

Massalle Ferrer teamed with Hundal to form the 49ers top doubles team. Massalle Ferrer and Hundal won 20 doubles matches including reaching the semifinals of the ITACarolinas Regional and winning four matches to reach the main draw of the ITA All-Americans last fall.
