Track and Field Teams Head to ECAC/IC4As

LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI track and field teams have the opportunity to showcase their talents in the postseason as the Keydets head to Princeton University’s Weaver Stadium this weekend to compete at the 2019 ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Princeton, New Jersey.


The majority of Keydets that qualified for the championships will compete Sunday although a handful are slated to contend Saturday in their individual events.


On Saturday James Granderson will kick it off at 2 p.m. in the IC4A long jump competition. Gavin Jenkins will conclude the day for VMI by competing in the IC4A 3000-meter steeplechase at 5 p.m.


Sarah Leckman will be the first to compete Sunday for the Keydets with the ECAC shot put at 9:30 a.m. A foursome consisting of Jonathan Gray, Jahanzib Shahbaz, Rafael Mas, Blaine Ashton and Jordin Poindexter will conclude the day for VMI with the IC4A 4x400m slated to race at 3:15 p.m.

3 pm: IC4A 800m – Jahanzib Shahbaz

5 pm: IC4A 3000m Steeplechase – Gavin Jenkins

11:15 am: IC4A 100mH trials – James Granderson

11:45 am: IC4A 100m finals – Jordin Poindexter

12:30 pm: IC4A Triple Jump – Blaine Ashton

12:30 pm: ECAC Discus Throw – Tiffany Quick
