MALIBU, Calif. - Thirteen members of the Pepperdine women's swimming and diving team were named to the Pacific Coast Swimming Conference All-Conference and All-Academic teams announced earlier this week with senior Brianna Blanchard (Agoura, Calif./La Reina HS) and juniors Tiffany Martz (Folsom, Calif./Folsom HS) Kayleen Hicks (Chico, Calif./Chico HS) being tabbed to both squads.
The PCSC All-Conference honor was awarded to top-eight finishers from this past February's PCSC Championships. Joining Blanchard, Martz and Hicks on this list were freshmen Shannon Adkins (Granite Bay, Calif./Granite Bay HS), Sarah Burris (Virginia Beach, Va./Cox HS), Rachel Dekar (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Cranbrook Kingswood Upper School) and Jenna Tenwolde (Laguna Niguel, Calif./Dana Hills HS), sophomore Leslie Wade (Atlanta, Ga./Lovett School), juniors Francesca Cyphers (Lake Oswego, Ore./St. Mary's Academy) and Madison Krall (Pueblo, Colo./Pueblo Centennial HS), and senior Ali Chester (Riverside, Calif./Riverside Poly).
The title of PCSC All-Academic is awarded to juniors and seniors who posted a 3.5 GPA or higher for the fall semester. Making this list in addition to the aforementioned trio were junior Jessell Owens (Winnemucca, Nev./Lowry HS) and senior Jillian McGrath (Ventura, Calif./Buena HS).
Pepperdine recently completed its 10th season under the guidance of head coach Nick Rodionoff, placing fourth at the PCSC Championships, and will return again to action this October for the start of its 2010-11 campaign.
