CofC Beach Volleyball Splits Pair of Matches to Open Season
DELAND, Fla. – The College of Charleston beach volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday at the Stetson Spring Break Invitational in DeLand, Fla. The Cougars opened the season with a 5-0 loss to No. 18 Tulane but rebounded to defeat Missouri Baptist, 4-1.
In the nightcap, Melissa Morello and Kayla Tronick took thei match 23-21, 21-17. Krissy Mummey and McKayla Rhodes dominated their match, 21-6, 21-17. Taylor Foley and Kennedy Madison took a pair of 21-11 sets. Allison Beckman and Devon Rachel cruised to a 21-8, 21-3 victory.
CofC will play a trio of matched on Sunday beginning with a bout with Eckerd at
10:30 a.m. The Cougars continue play against UNCW at noon before wrapping up the tournament with a match against No. 10 Stetson at 4:30 p.m. Live state for all the matches are available at StetsonStats.com.
