Getting to know: Amelia Clower
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Each Wednesday during the women’s soccer season, will feature a short Q&A with one of the 12 newcomers on the 49ers’ roster. This week’s student-athlete is Amelia Clower.

1. Why did you come to Charlotte?
Perfect distance from my home, great coaches, girls I know would be my best friends and I couldn’t picture myself anywhere else.

2. What do you love most about game days?
They’ve felt the same since I was little; I get a rush thinking about stepping on the field and having the best game of my life, every game.

3. If you could eat dinner with anyone in history, who would it be?
Does Taylor Swift count if she’s still alive??

4. What is one food item you refuse to eat?
Sour cream

5. What do you do to relax?
Lay in bed and learn a new song on guitar or go longboard with my dogs

6. When you were in kindergarten, what did you want to be when you grew up?
An acrobat in the circus

7. If you could pick one place for vacation, where it would it be and why?
Innsbruck, Austria. Whenever I see pictures, it looks like a fantasy world.

8. What’s the one song on your iPod you keep listening to over and over?
Stunner by Milky Chance

9. Who was the biggest influence thus far in your soccer career?
Kian Brownlee, my club soccer coach for seven years.

10. When you first stepped foot on campus here, what was your initial reaction?
It gets way too cold in Charlotte, I am never coming here again.

11. What would constitute a perfect day in your opinion?
Doing something spontaneous and unplanned with friends

12. What about college life excites you the most? What scares you the most?
Meeting lifelong friends and discovering who I really want to be life. I’m also scared of having to figure out who I have to be.
