Position: Assistant Coach

Mary Mancin enters her first season as an assistant coach for the VMI women’s soccer program.

She comes to the Institute by way of Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana, where she served as an assistant women’s soccer coach since February of 2017.  At SLU she worked primarily with goalkeepers and defenders and assisted in the planning and implementation of practice sessions, edited game film and assisted in the coordination of campus visits, scholarship and compliance. She also coordinated high school and junior college recruiting, team travel and meals, scouting report preparation and gameday operations.

Prior to Southeastern Louisiana, Mancin served as an assistant coach at the University of Tennessee at Martin (Aug. 2016-Feb. 2017), Belmont University (Feb. 2015-Aug. 2016) and Columbus State University (Aug. 2013-Feb. 2015).

Working primarily with goalkeepers at these programs, she also served large roles in junior college and high school recruitment and had much success including UT Martin’s Erica Myers, a first team All-Ohio Valley Conference goalie, and Belmont’s Stephanie Bukovec, a current goalkeeper for the Croatian national team.

Mancin was a four-year letterwinner in soccer at Columbus State University where she was rostered from 2009-12 and would go on to play two years in the WPSL with the Georgia Revolution from 2012-13.

She holds several coaching licenses including the USC Level III GK Diploma (2017), the USSF ‘C’ License (2015) and the USSF ‘D’ License (2011).

Mancin earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Columbus State in 2013 and went on to earn a master’s degree in the same field from Columbus State in 2015.
