Jordan Anderson and Maria McDaniel Named to USTFCCCA All-Academic Team
NEW ORLEANS -- Western Michigan track & field's Jordan Anderson and Maria McDaniel were both honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association after being named to the All-Academic Team on Thursday.
Anderson closed out her career with a fantastic indoor season, earning First Team All-Mid-American Conference honors after helping the 4x400-meter relay team to an Indoor MAC Title. Anderson boasts a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA while majoring in occupational therapy. She also garnered Indoor Academic All-MAC Team honors and was named a MAC Distinguished Scholar Athlete.
McDaniel had a stellar sophomore season in cross country. She finished third overall at the MAC Championships to earn First Team All-MAC for the second time in her career and later went on to take eighth at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championship and was named to the All-Great Lakes Region. McDaniel battled injuries during the indoor season but managed to score in the 5,000-meter run at the MAC Championship, placing seventh. She did not compete during the outdoor season due to injuries. McDaniel holds a 3.99 cumulative GPA in occupational therapy.
