GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNC Greensboro volleyball (9-17, 3-9 SoCon) dropped the backend of a two-match road swing on Saturday afternoon, as the Spartans fell to The Citadel 3-1 (20-25, 22-25, 25-23, 29-31) in McAlister Field House. 

Three Things To Know
-- Three different Spartans recorded at least 10 kills in the match, led by junior Maria Esch as she collected 20. 

-- Senior Grace Howell posted a game-high 16 digs. 

-- Freshman Gabriela McHugh surpassed the 50-assist mark for just the second time this season, as she tallied 52 of UNCG’s 58 assists.  

Up Next
The Spartans will return home for the first time since defeating Mercer on Oct. 19, as UNCG will face Samford on Friday, Nov. 8 in Fleming Gymnasium. The match will begin at 7 p.m.

The 2019 season is a special one for the program, as UNCG volleyball is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The program hosted a special celebration during the weekend of Friday, Oct. 18 and Saturday, Oct. 19. The weekend included a program history celebration luncheon and recognition of several distinguished alumni from the program’s past.
