CHATTANOOGA, TENN. – UNC Greensboro volleyball (8-11, 2-3) scored a victory in its first road match of the Southern Conference slate, as the Spartans on Friday night knocked off Chattanooga 3-1 (18-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-17).
Three Things To Know
--This was the first time this season that the Spartans have won after dropping the first set of a match. Going into tonight’s action, UNCG was 7-0 when winning the first set and 0-11 when falling in it.
--Junior Maria Esch had an impactful night on the court, as she led the Spartans in kills (21) and digs (18) while posting a match-best .308 hitting percentage.
--With the outcome, UNCG extends its winning streak against the Mocs to four matches.
The Spartans will next face Samford tomorrow night in Birmingham, Ala., for a match scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
UNCG Volleyball is celebrating 50 years of wonderful memories dedicated to celebrating current and former student-athletes, coaches and staff who have made an impact on our family. The program will be hosting a special celebration the weekend of Friday, Oct. 18 and Saturday, Oct. 19.
