EASTON, Pa. – Sophomore Ira Daly placed 12th to lead the Saint Joseph's men's cross country squad at the Lafayette Leopard Invitational, held at Lafayette's Metzgar Fields on Saturday morning. The Hawks accumulated 96 points and an average 8k time of 27:30 en route to a fourth-place team finish in a field of four. This was SJU's second race in as many days, as additional Hawks raced the Penn State National Invitational on Friday morning.

Paced by a 5:27.2 mile average, Daly crossed the finish line in 27:06.10, good for 12th in the field of 32.

Freshman Brendan Campbell followed in 15th (27:20.97 PR) while sophomore Jon McGrory (27:35.95), graduate student captain Tommy Higley (27:39.22), and sophomore Matt D'Auria (27:50.06) went 22nd, 23rd, and 24th, respectively, to round out the scoring for the Crimson and Gray.

Select Hawks will be named for the upcoming 2019 Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championship, set for Saturday, November 2 at the Oatlands Plantation in Leesburg, Va. A complete race preview will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
