Deanna Werner is in her fourth year as an Assistant Media Relations Director with the Texas A&M athletic department and serves as the primary media contact for the nationally-ranked women's basketball and women's golf programs.

Werner was in charge of all media aspects for the Aggies in their first trip to the NCAA Women's Final Four and their first national championship. Before moving into her current position, she was previously the primary contact for the nationally-ranked Aggie soccer and softball teams.

While at A&M, Werner has served as the Co-Media Coordinator for the 2009 NCAA Women's College Cup hosted by Texas A&M and her 2009 softball media guide was selected third best in the nation by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). She assisted media coordinators at the 2008 and 2009 NCAA Women's Volleyball Championships and also nominated and promoted A&M's first women's basketball All-American and the 2009 Women's Soccer Lowe's Senior CLASS Award winner.

Prior to her arrival in College Station, Werner was a graduate assistant in the women's communications office at the University of Arkansas for two years. She was the primary contact for the Razorback softball and swimming and diving programs, and assisted with soccer, basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, track and field, cross country, golf and tennis. She served as the play-by-play and color voice of the Arkansas softball and volleyball teams, and her 2008 swimming and diving media guide was named third best in the nation by CoSIDA. Werner also created the first NCAA Women's College World Series blog at the 2007 championship.

Werner was the assistant sports information director and the assistant volleyball/softball coach at Illinois College from 2004-06. At IC, she was responsible for all 18 varsity sports. In addition, Werner worked in the sports department at the Jacksonville (Ill.) Journal-Courier.

Werner got her start in sports information as a student at Kalamazoo College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in economics and business in 2004. She received a master's degree in recreation and sports management from Arkansas in 2008. The Muskegon, Mich., native is also a member of CoSIDA where she serves as a Publications Contest Coordinator.
