Undefeated Rams face biggest test on road trip
TORONTO - After remaining unbeaten this past weekend with a win and a tie, the Ryerson Rams men’s soccer team looks to continue their success in potentially their most challenging weekend so far this year.
The Rams will once again face the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks as well as the Toronto Varsity Blues, both games being away from home.
Last weekend the Ridgebacks came to Downsview Park and clinched a come-back tie against the Rams for their fourth draw in a row. After an intense game where the Rams feel they should have won, they will not have to wait long to seek revenge since the teams face-off again this Friday at Vaso’s Field in Oshawa.
The Rams will then face the rival Varsity Blues this Sunday. With both teams currently undefeated, it'll be the biggest test so far this campaign for both sides.
The Ryerson Rams have a 5-0-1 record and the Blues sit at 4-0-1 where both teams have drawn against Ontario Tech, so this matchup could not be more even on paper.
Look for Rams veteran players Ali Ghazanfari (Stouffville, Ont.), Abdallah El-Chanti (Toronto, Ont.) and Sean Fafinski (Toronto, Ont.) to play large roles throughout the weekend.
Kick-off will be at Vaso’s Field at 1 p.m. ET this Friday against Ontario Tech and at Varsity Stadium at 3:15 p.m. ET on Sunday afternoon.
