#TheJourneyTo... wins SVG College Sports Media Award
ATLANTA — #TheJourneyTo… Road to Nationals documentary series has won the Sports Video Group (SVG) College Sports Media Award for Most Outstanding Program Series, Collegiate Student.
The Rams received the honour on Thursday evening at the 11th-Annual SVG/NACDA College Sports Media Awards at the SVG College Summit in Atlanta, Georgia.
The documentary series, produced by third-year RTA students Justin Naro and Zack Underhill, followed Ryerson’s women’s basketball team throughout the 2018-19 season leading up to the 2019 U SPORTS Final 8 National Championship.
Other finalists for the award included Ball State University, Marist College, and Seton Hall University.

This year’s SVG College Sports Media award is Ryerson’s second in the last three years. 24/7, a series produced by Image Arts student Elwin van Alst, received the same award in 2017, officially marking the first time an institution outside of the United States received the honour.
#TheJourneyTo… also received the 2018-19 OUA Celebrating and Honouring Achievements in Marketing and Promotions (C.H.A.M.P.) award for Best Feature in early May.
