Rams skate to fifth place finish at Winter Invitational
TORONTO - Performing in their last official competition before the OUA championship, the Ryerson Rams figure skating team finished fifth at the Winter Invitational this past week.
The Rams earned four medals to contribute to their fifth place finish.
Jessy Trinh and Ali Douplik struck gold for their Intermediate Similar Pairs routine. The Dance Fours, consisting of Rebecca Bourgeois, Briar Koski, Bella Larkin, and Chris Berneck, earned a silver medal. Berneck claimed his second medal of the competition when he finished second in the Men's Long Programme, and rounding out the medal performances was Kaitlyn Wilson who skated to a silver medal in the Star 10 Freeskate event.
Koski and Elisabeth McGee finished fifth in the Star 10 Similar Dance routine, and the synchro team put forth a fifth place finish.
Larkin finished sixth in the Star 10 Dance event, then finished seventh with Bourgeois in the Rhythm Dance program. Bourgeois also finished eighth in the Gold Solo Dance.
Cassandra DeMarco and Leya Kober teamed up for a ninth place skate in the Star 8-9 Similar Dance event, and rounding out the results was the Freeskate Fours, consisting of Trinh, McGee, Douplik, and Julia Iaboni, who finished tenth.
The team is now looking ahead to the OUA Championship to be held February 12-13 in Kingston.
