Abolins joined the Rams in the 2018-19 season.

Abolins has had an extensive playing career, spanning NCAA Division I, League 1, Swedish professional leagues, and the Latvian women's national team. She began her competitive career at the Toronto Lady Lynx Jr. Academy team playing part-time striker, part-time goalkeeper, in the Super-Y League. After being selected for the league-wide ODP camp it was quick work before she dedicated herself to goalkeeping.

Earning a full athletic scholarship to the University of Detroit Mercy, Abolins excelled at the Division I level earning All-First team, tournament team, second team, freshman team, and Goalkeeper of the Year accolades as well as breaking the school career shut out record in three seasons before transferring to Western Kentucky University for her final season.

Finishing off at WKU, Abolins ended her collegiate career 25th overall nationwide for career shutouts (33) as well as single season goals against average (0.68) and multiple conference accolades at both schools.

After tearing her ACL, Abolins rebounded to play in League 1 Ontario following her school career with Durham United FC, helping the team win the league while picking up Goalkeeper of the Year and league MVP honours.

Making the leap to the professional side, Abolins played for Swedish sides QBIK Karlstad and Ostersunds DFF in the second tier Elitettan. Establishing herself as a dominant number one, she was then able to make the jump to Swedish Damellsvenskan team KIF Orebro.

While in Europe, Abolins was also a part of the Latvian women's national team participating int he Baltic Cup and the Turkish women's national team tournament.

Despite being an active player, Abolins has experience coaching both privately and with several clubs within the GTA.
