CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston alum Dylan Applegate (’16) has been promoted to director of baseball operations as announced by head coach Matt Heath on Tuesday.

Applegate previously served as a student assistant coach for the Cougars during the 2016 season, while completing his undergraduate coursework. He joined the program as a student manager in 2013 and served in a supporting role for the team’s memorable Colonial Athletic Association Championship title and NCAA Super Regional run in 2014.

"Dylan knows our program better than anybody," Heath said. "He has diligently proven he will better our team in any way that he can."

Originally from Lexington, Ky., Applegate played baseball for Lexington Catholic High School winning a state championship title in 2009. He graduated from The College in May with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science.
