Rob Turner is in his 10th year with the William & Mary Sports Information Department and was promoted to Senior Associate Sports Information Director in the summer of 2011 after serving as the associate director the previous five years. Turner serves as the secondary media contact for football and is the primary contact for the lacrosse and men's and women's gymnastics programs.
During his tenure at the College, Turner has also served as the primary contact for the baseball, women's basketball, women's soccer and volleyball programs.
Prior to joining the W&M staff, he spent five years with the University of Tennessee Media Relations department as a graduate assistant and student assistant.
As a graduate assistant at Tennessee, he worked primarily with the nationally ranked women's basketball team. In addition to coordinating interviews, he assisted with the production of various publications, including the 2004-05 media guide that was judged "Best in the Nation" by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
A native of Williamsburg, Va., Turner earned his undergraduate degree in communications from UT in 2003 and a master's degree in sport management in 2005.
Turner and his wife, Christie, reside in Williamsburg with their 2-year-old son, Thomas.
