Athlete Academic Resource Center

The Athletic Department is dedicated to the academic success of every student athlete at Wright State University. As one part of a multifaceted approach, we maintain the Athlete Academic Resource Center, whose purpose is to provide our athletes with a quiet, monitored environment in which to pursue that success. Every freshman is required to attend at least six hours per week at the center and other athletes must attend as required by their coaching staffs. All hours are recorded and weekly summaries are provided to each coach. Computers are available for use in the center as well as areas for individual study.

Hours of Operation:

Day Hours
Sunday Evenings 5 pm - 9 pm
Monday 9 am - 9 pm
Tuesday 9 am - 9 pm
Wednesday 9 am - 9 pm
Thursday 9 am - 9 pm
Friday 9 am - 3 pm

Tutoring

If you are in need of additional help in a course, or if you just want to improve your grade, consider getting a tutor. There are tutors for most courses at the university and it will not cost you anything out of pocket. Make sure to let the staff in Tutoring Services know you are a student athlete when you register for services.

Math Learning Center

If you want to improve your grade in math courses make sure to stop by the Math Learning Center for assistance. They offer face-to-face peer tutoring, support for many math classes on campus, online learning, and you can rent a graphing calculator should you need one.

Writing Center

The Writing Center can help you in each phase of the writing process from generating ideas to citing your bibliography in the correct format. Each writing consultant is trained to help you with whatever it is you need to improve your writing skills.

Supplemental Instruction

Supplemental Instruction (SI) sessions are a way to help review course concepts, improve study habits, and become better prepared for exams and assignments. Each SI session is led by a trained student leader who works in consultation with the professor.

You may attend as many of the free SI sessions as you desire in order to review course material and have concepts reinforced.
