ATLANTA - Remington Hasty went 3-for-4 at the plate in Game 3 against ULM Sunday, but the Panthers fell to the Warhawks 5-4 in GSU's final home game of the season.
The Panthers found themselves behind 3-0 after the first inning, but GSU got a run back in the bottom of the second to make it a 3-1 game.
Georgia State fought all the way back to even the score at 3-3 with a two-run base knock by the senior, Hasty. With two runners on, Hasty hit a blooper to shallow left field that found grass right in front of the charging left fielder. The left fielder fired a throw home but it got away from the catcher as the second run crossed home plate, allowing Hasty to move all the way around to third.
ULM jumped back on top 5-3 in the top of the sixth, but Georgia State wasn't done just yet. In the bottom of the sixth, senior Arden Jobe doubled to put two runners in scoring position with one out. Caitlin Ray then delivered a single up the middle that scored a run to pull back within one.
The Panthers got a runner on in the seventh inning, but ULM held on to win the game and take the series.
Georgia State will close out the regular season next weekend at rival Georgia Southern in Statesboro.
