Ziegert shot a 74 in the final round to end the tournament at even par, 216.  Through nine holes on Tuesday, she was three under after making brides on holes 4, 5, 8 and 9.  However, the back nine proved harder for Ziegert as she made three bogeys and a double to finish with a 74.

The Spartans recorded their best three-round score of the season with the 882.  It is also the second consecutive tournament that then team has recorded three sub-300 rounds.  The 292 shot in rounds one and two also tied for the low rounds of the season.

Kathleen Rojas and Rachelle Reali each shot a 74 on Tuesday.  Rojas finished tied for 40th with teammate Megan Osland at 223.  Osland finished the tournament with a 77.  Reali finished 65th at 230, and ended the tournament with birdies on her final two holes.  Jennifer Brumbaugh rounded out the scoring with a 76 and finished 51st at 226.

"I am very pleased with our results at this tournament, with the lowest tournament score of the season and improved 37 shots from last year," said Spartan head coach John Dormann.  "We are improving at the right time.  However, our putting and short game let us down today, too many 3-putts.  We played with the #3 ream in the country, and off the tee, you would not know who the better team was.  But, they don't make mistakes and we did today."

San Jose State next plays at the 2012 Club Glove Western Athletic Conference Championship at the Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz., April 23-25.
