LAS CRUCES, N.M. (April 16) - The New Mexico State women's tennis team hosts Western New Mexico in its penultimate match of the season Wednesday at 2 p.m. on the NM State Tennis Center courts.
The Aggies (9-7, 1-2 WAC) have won eight of their last 12 matches this season. The match against WNMU and this weekend's matchup against New Mexico are the last two regular-season contests on the schedule before the Aggies host the 2012 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Tennis Tournament next week.
Sophomore Ros-Polly Nguyen won her sixth straight match last time out at Santa Clara. Senior co-captains Natalia Salum and Manon Sylvain have been key figures in the Aggie wins this season.
In its final road swing of the season, NM State fell 4-3 at San Jose State before a 5-2 setback at Santa Clara. The Aggies are 4-2 at home this season.
Western New Mexico (7-11, 4-2 RMAC), of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in Division II, enters the contest on a two-game winning streak. The Mustangs are 0-2 against Division I foes falling 7-0 to both New Mexico and Air Force earlier this season. WNMU is 1-4 on the road this season.
