FITNESS THRU GYMNASTICS


Fun and challenging fitness exercises to build flexibility and strength.  Basic tumbling moves to build coordination.  We will delve into the many fun tumbling moves used in gymnastics, including forward and backward rolls, cartwheels and roundoffs, walkovers and handsprings, and front and back flips.  These are all exciting gymnastics moves which require some flexibility, strength, and desire.  We make the class very fun, and we love to see each student's inevitable progress toward reaching their goals.

GOLF

Learn the fundamentals of the golf swing, the short game – putting, chipping, pitching, and golf rules and etiquette.  Taught by our Hanover CC at Dartmouth professional staff.  You will receive and email with information on where you'll meet and what you'll need to bring.  Clubs are provided.

LEARNING AT DARTMOUTH

Learning at Dartmouth, in its 24th year, is exclusively for first-year students (Class of 2021, vets, and transfer students) who want to do well academically and learn about the many valuable resources at Dartmouth College.  Fourteen interesting and interactive sessions combine learning strategies (time management, active learning strategies, writing college papers, note taking, and exam preparation) with presentations by the Center for Professional Development, Off-Campus Programs, Undergraduate Deans, and others.  Come, Listen, and Learn.

Free, and PE credit is available.

RAD

The RAD System Objective is "to develop and enhance the options of self defense, so they may become viable considerations to the woman who is attacked".  The RAD system was developed to empower women through self defense.   This empowerment is taught through four basic principles:  education, dependence on self, making their own decisions and realization of their own power.  The program is to teach women to defend themselves against an abduction, through the verbal and basic physical defense techniques, resulting in escape or survival.

This course will include crime prevention/risk techniques, voice commands, and basic defense techniques.  The women are given a 50 page manual to follow throughout the program, and to keep for their own use.  The program also has a lifelong self defense return policy that allows the women to return to a RAD class anytime, with any instructor, free of charge for a lifetime of practice.

Participants must be able to attend each class.  A class missed means that the participant cannot attend the physical part of the next class.
