NO. 1 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL CRUISES PAST UMD 85-68 IN SEASON OPENER
DULUTH, Minn. — The No. 1-ranked Michigan Tech women's basketball team knocked down 11 3-pointers and 22-of-25 free throws to defeat Minnesota Duluth 85-68 today in both teams' season opener. Katie Zimmerman drained five 3-pointers and paced the Huskies in scoring with 19 points.

TECH'S NO. 1 PRESEASON RANKING UNANIMOUS WITH TOP SPOT IN WBCA POLL
LILBURN, Ga. — The Michigan Tech women's basketball team will be a unanimous national preseason No. 1 when it opens its season Nov. 15. The Huskies, who were already tabbed as the national preseason favorite by Division II Bulletin, garnered the top spot in the USA TODAY/ESPN/Women's Basketball Coaches Association Division II Preseason Poll which was released today.
