TECH TAKES WINTER CARNIVAL TITLE; KATTELUS NAMED MVP
Michigan Tech dropped a 3-2 decision to No. 6 Minnesota Duluth Saturday (Feb. 6) but earned its first Winter Carnival title since 2007 thanks to a 5-4 advantage in total goals on the weekend. Junior forward Eric Kattelus was named Winter Carnival MVP after finishing with one goal and three assists in the series.

HUSKIES BITE BULLDOGS FOR 3-1 WINTER CARNIVAL WIN
Michigan Tech scored three third period goals to rally from a 1-0 third period deficit to earn a 3-1 WCHA win over No. 6 Minnesota Duluth in the first game of Winter Carnival Friday (Feb. 5). Sophomore Brett Olson and junior Eric Kattelus each scored one goal and one assist to lead the Huskies.

VLAISAVLJEVICH FINALST FOR LOWE'S SENIOR CLASS AWARD
Michigan Tech senior Eli Vlaisavljevich is one of 10 NCAA student-athletes to be tabbed as finalists for the 2009-10 Lowe's Senior CLASS Award in the hockey division. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – classroom, character, community and competition.
