Saint Joseph's seniors Anna Willocks (field hockey) and Rory Houston (men's track and field) have been selected as the recipients of the Saint Joseph's Class of 1950 Award as the school's top graduating student-athletes. The awards were announced at the second annual "Hawkies" awards breakfast on Thursday morning.

A total of six Saint Joseph's teams have earned Public Recognition Awards from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), based on their most recent multi-year Academic Progress Rate for posting scores in the top 10 percent of their sport. SJU's programs honored for the 2017-18 academic year are: baseball, men's cross country, golf, men's track, women's soccer and women's tennis.

Saint Joseph's women's soccer freshman Asia Whittenberger is one of 10 Atlantic 10 Conference student-athletes that will join more than 500 athletic leaders and other student-athletes from across the country for the 2019 NCAA Inclusion Forum in Atlanta, Ga., from April 26 28, thanks to a new league initiative to fund the opportunity.
