Senior center Molly Hourigan, a member of the Holy Cross women's basketball team, is the 2015-2016 recipient of the Samantha Vellaccio Award. The Vellaccio Award is presented annually by the Holy Cross Varsity Club to the varsity women's basketball player who best exemplifies the mission of Holy Cross both on and off the court.
Eleven of Holy Cross' athletic teams have achieved a perfect score of 1,000 in the NCAA's academic performance standard, the Academic Progress Rate (APR). These 11 teams all had a perfect multi-year APR score (based on data from the 2011-2012 through 2014-2015 school years), which tied Holy Cross for 10th in the nation out of 356 Division I schools.
Fourteen College of the Holy Cross varsity athletic teams have received Division I Academic Progress Rate (APR) public recognition awards from the NCAA. These teams posted multi-year APR scores in the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sports. The 14 total teams earning public recognition awards puts Holy Cross in the top 10 among all Division I athletic programs.
