Crusaders Fall To Lehigh On Family Weekend

Lehigh tailback Dom Bragalone carried the ball 17 times for 182 yards and two touchdowns, to lead the Mountain Hawks to a 46-14 victory over the Holy Cross football team at Fitton Field. Following the contest, Bragalone received the Edward N. Anderson Award as the Most Valuable Player of the Crusaders' Family Weekend game.

Due to the inclement weather, the Premier Lot (Baseball Field) will be closed for this afternoon's football game between Holy Cross and Lehigh. Anyone with a pass for the Premier Lot will have several parking options for today.

At the end of their careers, the seniors on the Holy Cross football team will have competed in 46 total games for the purple and white. Nearly four years ago, this class arrived on Mount St. James as freshmen in the summer heat, eager to learn and be a part of Holy Cross football. As freshmen, they learned what it takes to be a Division I athlete while also balancing academics and co-curricular activities.

Last season as a freshman Geoff Wade didn't take any snaps. He didn't even travel for away games. Then on Oct. 15, in his third start at the college level, the sophomore quarterback for Holy Cross led the Crusaders to a 27-17 win over Harvard, at the time ranked No. 20 in FCS.

The Holy Cross football team will play its final home game of the 2016 season on Saturday, Oct. 22, when it faces Lehigh at 12:05 p.m. at Fitton Field. The contest between the Crusaders and the Mountain Hawks will be shown live to a national audience on the American Sports Network, and can be seen locally on NESNplus.

A Sensational Saturday In Holy Cross History

On Saturday, Oct. 15, Holy Cross Athletics turned in several performances for the ages! The football team and the men's ice hockey team both knocked off nationally-ranked opponents, marking the first time in recorded school history that two different Holy Cross teams have defeated ranked foes on the same day.

Kyle Young & Domenic Cozier Honored By Patriot League

Holy Cross senior linebacker Kyle Young and freshman tailback Domenic Cozier have been honored by the Patriot League for their performances in Saturday's 27-17 victory over No. 20 Harvard. Young was named the Corvias Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week, while Cozier was chosen as the Corvias Patriot League Rookie of the Week.

Gordie Lockbaum Bobblehead Giveaway Moved To Lehigh Game

The Holy Cross department of athletics has announced that Gordie Lockbaum bobblehead dolls will now be given away at the football game between the Crusaders and the Lehigh Mountain Hawks on Saturday, Oct. 22. The giveaway had originally been scheduled for the Oct. 15 contest with Harvard, but has been moved back one week due to an unforeseen shipping delay.
