Peter Pujals Wins Gold Helmet

Holy Cross senior quarterback Peter Pujals has received the New England Football Writers' Association Gold Helmet, sponsored by the Jack Grinold Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the National Football Foundation, as the Division I New England Player of the Week for his performance in last Saturday's 51-26 victory over No. 9 New Hampshire. This marks the second time he has received the Gold Helmet this season, and the fourth time he has won the honor in his collegiate career.

The Holy Cross football team is ranked 25th in the nation this week in both the Stats FCS Poll and the FCS Coaches Poll. This marks the first time the Crusaders have been ranked since the 2010 season, when they checked in at No. 25 in both preseason polls.

Holy Cross senior quarterback Peter Pujals, senior linebacker Nick McBeath and senior placekicker A.J. Wells have been honored by the Patriot League for their performances in Saturday's 51-26 victory over No. 9 New Hampshire. Pujals was named the Corvias Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week, McBeath was selected as the Corvias Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week and Wells was chosen as the Corvias Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week.

Martin Dorsey Named C&R Tire Crusader Of The Week

Junior wide receiver Martin Dorsey has been named the C&R Tire Crusader of the Week, for competition from Sept. 11-17. Dorsey caught five passes for 165 yards and two scores as the Holy Cross football team knocked off No. 9 New Hampshire on Saturday.

The Holy Cross football team will play its first home game of the season when it takes on New Hampshire at Fitton Field on Saturday, Sept. 16. The game between the Crusaders and the Wildcats will be televised live by Charter TV3 and the Patriot League Network, and can be heard live on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.

Senior tailback Diquan Walker has been named the C&R Tire Crusader of the Week, for competition from Sept. 4-10. Walker rushed 10 times for 72 yards and two touchdowns as the Holy Cross football team defeated Bucknell 20-0 on Saturday.

Crusaders Shut Out Bucknell 20-0 In Patriot League Opener

The Holy Cross defense posted its first shutout since 2015 and allowed only 214 total yards, as the Crusaders recorded a 20-0 victory over Bucknell at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium. Holy Cross improves to 1-1 overall and 1-0 in the Patriot League with the win, while the Bison fall to 1-1 on the season and 0-1 in the conference.
