An Update From Head Coach Tom Gilmore

We have been very busy over the past month as we continue our preparations for the 2017 season. Spring practice was very productive for us and the thing that really stood out was the excitement and energy level of the team. Some of our new assistant coaches have really helped in that dynamic by bringing new viewpoints and concepts to the table, while helping to improve our intensity and toughness.

Jake Wieczorek To Receive Cooney Award

Senior wide receiver Jake Wieczorek, a member of the Holy Cross football team, has been selected as the 2016-2017 winner of the Honorable John P. Cooney Memorial Award. Presented by the Holy Cross Varsity Club in memory of Judge John P. Cooney (Class of 1923), the Cooney Award goes to a senior letterwinner who performed beyond all expectations with courage, loyalty and dedication.

Football Team To Host Bone Marrow Registry Drive On April 20

Holy Cross head football coach Tom Gilmore and the Crusader football program will host their ninth annual bone marrow registry drive on Thursday, April 20. The screening will be held from 7:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at two locations on the Holy Cross campus: in the Kimball Dining Hall and in the Hogan Campus Center.

Holy Cross Football Names 2017 Team Captains

Senior linebacker Nick McBeath, senior offensive lineman James Murray and senior quarterback Peter Pujals will serve as the captains of the 2017 Holy Cross football team, as announced by head coach Tom Gilmore. Pujals, who was previously a captain during the 2014, 2015 and 2016 campaigns, becomes the first player in school history to serve as a team captain for four seasons.

Holy Cross Football Team Concludes Spring Drills

Junior cornerback Akeem Walcott totaled five tackles and two interceptions, as the Holy Cross football team played its annual spring game at Kuzniewski Field. The offense was able to total 311 yards on 71 plays from scrimmage, including 189 passing yards and 122 rushing yards.

Guild Featured In Worcester Telegram & Gazette

Running back Gabe Guild suffered a season-ending lisfranc (mid-foot) injury in Holy Cross' second game of 2016 at the University of New Hampshire and wasn't around a couple of weeks later for HC's home game against Dartmouth when quarterback Peter Pujals, his classmate and close friend, went down in the first half with a lower leg injury that also proved to be season ending.

Three Holy Cross Football Players Selected To 2017 Hampshire Honor Society

Three graduating seniors from the 2016 Holy Cross football team have been selected to the 2017 Hampshire Honor Society, as announced by the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame. The team is comprised of graduating seniors from schools across the country who were starters or key reserves and maintained a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20.

Holy Cross Names Lloyd Lee Outside Linebackers Coach

The College of the Holy Cross football team has added Lloyd Lee to its coaching staff, as announced by head coach Tom Gilmore. Lee will serve as the outside linebackers coach for the Crusaders.

The Crusaders will hold their first spring practice session of the year tonight as they forge a team looking to contend for the 2017 Patriot League championship.

Lockbaum Selected For Induction In ECAC Hall Of Fame

Former Holy Cross football standout Gordie Lockbaum (Class of 1988) has been selected for induction in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Hall of Fame. He is part of the ECAC Hall of Fame Class of 2017, which includes five student-athletes, four administrators / coaches and one team.
